Oil and Grease Removal

|
Wastewater containing oils and grease, as well as heavy metals, are generated by a wide variety of processes such as automobile parts remanufacturing, steel fabrication or vehicle cleaning systems such as municipal bus washes or commercial aircraft washes. The discharge of water contaminated by oils or grease is tightly regulated. Collecting and hauling away wastewater for off-site disposal is expensive. Wastech custom designs automated treatment systems that can remove oil and grease, as well as heavy metals, so the treated water can be safely released to the sewer or recycled and reused in a manufacturing process. Oil and grease is removed through several process steps that involve pH adjustment, coagulant addition, mixing with clay and polymer, and then filtration. The solids containing the oils, grease and heavy metals are removed for safe disposal. The filtrate water can be reused or released. Wastech Oil and Grease Removal systems can be integrated with other waste water treatment systems, such as ion exchange and vacuum distillation, to provide a comprehensive program for waste reduction, recycling and zero discharge.
