  Solvent Collection System

Solvent wastes are a real challenge for safe handling and disposal for any industrial manufacturing or laboratory facility. Solvent wastes, such as isopropyl alcohol (IPA), acetone or methyl ethylketone solutions with water, cannot be discharged to the sewer. The solvent waste may be flammable, and require the use of explosion-proof or intrinsically safe electrical components. Solvent wastes may be toxic or carcinogenic, and precautions must be taken in design and procedures to contain the chemicals and eliminate exposure to operating personnel. Solvent wastes must be segregated from other wastewater streams, collected and hauled away for incineration or recycling when an on-site treatment process, such as advanced oxidation, is not practical.

Wastech has standard Solvent Collection Systems that are perfectly suited for solvent wastes, and can custom design a safe, functional system to meet your unique requirements. Key features of standard Wastech Solvent Collection Systems are:

  • Stainless steel collection drums or fabricated tanks
  • Fire-rated storage cabinets with spill containment and leak detection
  • Stainless steel air operated diaphragm transfer pumps
  • Explosion-proof or intrinsically safe instruments and electrical components
  • Automatic drum-switching for systems with two or more drums
  • Custom designed configurations are available
  • Compatible with optional remote controls in explosion-proof or intrinsically safe configurations
  • Can be integrated with Wastech Solvent Pump Lift Stations into a complete solution
