Description:
The CWT-75 Plus adds effluent pH adjustment to the CWT-75. This system is designed to treat 65 gallon batches of waste water containing heavy metals. The waste is transferred to the upper batch treatment tank where chemistry is added to precipitate the heavy metals. Our in-house lab can test a waste sample to optimize the treatment process and determine the most efficient and cost effective treatment method. Once the heavy metals fall out of solution, the waste is automatically discharged through filter bags that will collect the solids. The filtrate is then pumped from the lower collection basin to the sewer. Depending on the treatment process and the local pH discharge limits, the filtrate may need final pH adjustment. Usually waste water must be raised to a higher pH than the local limits to effectively remove the heavy metals. In this case, the clear water must be treated for pH before entering the sewer. The CWT-75 Plus adds acid to the lower collection tank to lower the pH of the waste before discharging it to the sewer.
Depending on the amount of solids generated by the precipitation process, filter bags may not be adequate to collect the solids. In these rare cases, the CWT-75 Plus FP replaces the filter bags with a filter press.
